About our product
Following years of development latest addition to LPG Cleaner range of products is the icV Valve Saver Fluid.
With the molecular structure specifically designed to adhere to metallic parts that are exposed to extreme condition during normal operating conditions of a modern engine icV is delivering extra protection through deposition of a firm layer of lubricant and shock damper fluid, to reduce or prolong valve seat recession problem.
Understanding the problem.
Valve recession occurs in all vehicles, some are more prone to this then others however only problems on some, are manifesting themselves through incorrect engine performance, or damage if not attended to.
The core of the problem is the high combustion temperature. This is directly constrained to air to fuel ratio regardless of the fuel burned.
So if a vehicle is using petrol and the mixture is moved towards rich, the recession will be slowed down at the cost emission as well as fuel economy. The new generation vehicles have ever more complex filters installed in the exhaust system to minimise pollutants which are designed to operate at vary close to stoichiometric mixture ranges or their lifespan is reduced considerably. This task is performed by a complex emission monitoring sensors, with their life span also shortened when exposed to extreme conditions.
Running the vehicle with the mixture set to lean, similarly has the same problems with emissions as well as high fuel consumption, due to power levels being down which in term urges the user to drive harder.
One key other critical effect of mixture being set to lean, is peak combustion temperature level increase. This can be measured by closely monitoring, using correct equipment, the formation of nitrogen oxides (NOx) level in the post combustion cycle. There is solid relation ship between combustion temperature and formation of NOx gases, so their measurement indicates combustion temperature level without the need for very complex and expensive testing equipment.
With the peak flash temperature of a stoichiometric ignition combustion engine being roughly around 1600 – 1800 deg Celsius, alteration of mixture to lean can increase that figure to as much as 2600 deg Celsius without causing immediate damage to the engine.
In the long term however, the situation worsens with every complete engine cycle, as constant high temperature component exposure causes unwanted softening of exposed material. Bearing in mind the melting point of 2 most common metals used in engine manufacturing, Iron and Aluminium, is around 1100 and 700 deg C respectively. Couple this to a constant hammering force exerted on the valve seat by the valve itself and the damage is clear to see. After few thousands of cycles the gap between camshaft and the top of the valve closes and a valve overlap gap increases up to the point where by the blow by effect happens. This is where during combustion the exhaust or intake valve (mainly the earlier) does not close late enough for the combustion to take place, and as a result the peak combustion gases are escaping past the valve seal and just like a mountain stream cutting its way through the rocks as it flows by, the pressurised hot gases are cutting their way through any obstacle not strong enough to stop them, in this instance the aluminium or iron. This is a costly damage which can be prevented by use of icV valve saver fluid.
Our solution to the problem
Until recent years the lead was added to fuels which although achieving the goal carried serious health risks and was phased out in towards the end of last century.
Our icV is specially formulated to lubricate and coat metallic parts with a special energy absorbing fluid as well as number of additives which accelerate flame speed and increase octane number to aid burn efficiency.
Protection to valves and valve seats
